Wigan have signed Samoa centre George Carmont from Australian side Newcastle Knights on a two-year deal. Carmont, 29, spent three years with NRL outfit Newcastle but did not have his contract renewed. Wigan head coach Brian Noble said: "I know George well and I am delighted to have signed a player of his quality. "He has been excellent in the National Rugby League for the last couple of years and is a good addition to the Wigan squad." Carmont captained his country in 2006 and was part of the squad who booked a place at the 2008 World Cup
